How is the human psyche formed? What does the landscape of my own inner world look like?

These fundamental questions led me to a deeper exploration of psychology, particularly the profound insights of psychoanalyst Carl Jung. Through his research, I came to comprehend the core concepts of human psychological development: archetypes, complexes, the collective unconscious, the persona, the shadow, and the true self. It is a compelling fact that even the widely known MBTI personality assessment is rooted in Jung’s psychological types.

Is the person standing before the mirror truly "me," or is it merely an outer form constructed by social norms and conventions? Yearning to decipher this vast realm of the unconscious, I resurrected the games of my childhood and began to play freely upon the canvas. Throughout this creative process, I recognised myself as a "kidult"—experiencing a deep attachment to things conventionally designated for children. Embracing this perspective, I evoke the pure, uninhibited imagination of my youth, drawing intuitively as if capturing spontaneous doodles.

Furthermore, I expand this playful methodology by integrating collage techniques—cutting and pasting paper onto the canvas—and engaging in the rhythmic act of stamping various shapes. These physical, tactile processes accumulate into rich layers of texture born from synchronicity and chance. My artistic practice expands by layering my current conscious intellect over the accidental forms derived from nostalgic childhood play.

As Carl Jung stated, "Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate." The abstract paintings that depict my inner world are, in essence, my "shadows." Thus, this shadow-play serves as a vital process of making the unconscious conscious—a psychological excavation to confront and awaken the hidden dimensions of the psyche that long went unnoticed.
